Off-road-oriented wagon and estate models are designed with tougher mechanical setups, improved rough-road capability, and increased ground clearance. Audi has now introduced the Allroad variant of its A6 Avant, which was launched last year. In Germany, it starts at EUR 77,250 (around Rs 84.61 lakh), and it is expected to arrive in other international markets, including North America, in the near future.
New Audi A6 Allroad Unveiled
Earlier, Audi reserved its widebody design exclusively for its high-performance flagship estate, the RS6. However, with the introduction of the 2027 Audi A6 Allroad, this widebody styling is no longer limited to the RS6 and is now available to more mainstream buyers. Based on the A6 Avant, the A6 Allroad stands out with its wider body design along with several other distinctive features.
By “more,” we refer to increased ground clearance, which has been raised by 34 mm. The Allroad also features protective body cladding and wheel arch trims for added durability. Thanks to the widebody design, the A6 Allroad is 111 mm wider than the A6 Avant. Both the front and rear tracks have been widened to support larger wheels of up to 21 inches, with tyres sized up to 285/35.
The Audi A6 Allroad carries forward the same Matrix LED headlights as the A6 Avant, along with a large front grille, flowing roofline, and a spacious glass area. It also features connected multi-layer LED tail lights at the rear, semi-flush door handles, sporty rear bumpers, and an interior similar to the A6 Avant. The cabin comes equipped with a 14.5-inch infotainment display, an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, an optional 10.5-inch front passenger screen, a new steering wheel, and a gloss black centre console.
Diesel and PHEV Engine Options
For the first time, the Audi A6 Allroad is offered with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant called the A6 Allroad E-Hybrid. It combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 20.7 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor. The combined output stands at 362 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.5 seconds, a top speed of 250 km/h, and an all-electric driving range of up to 95 km.
Alongside this, Audi also continues to offer its proven 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine, producing 295 bhp and 580 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, making it slightly quicker than the PHEV variant. With the new A6 Allroad, Audi is also providing rear-wheel steering and the Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. The rear-wheel steering system offers up to 5 degrees of movement in both directions—turning opposite to the front wheels at low speeds for better manoeuvrability, and in the same direction at higher speeds for improved stability.
