Xiaomi is swiftly becoming a prominent brand in the auto business. The company revealed really positive news regarding how many vehicles it sold in April – it delivered more over 30,000 EVs to customers. This is a considerable jump up from the month before. In March, the business handed over 21,440 automobiles.

The corporation does not provide the exact final figure yet, but the 30,000 threshold is a major thing. We normally see the official figures from the China Passenger Car Association later in the month. This sales boost suggests that Xiaomi is moving past the little ups and downs it encountered earlier in the year. It also indicates that the firm is capable of constructing and distributing automobiles far faster than many people imagined.

Xiaomi has set a very high objective for itself this year. The corporation plans to deliver 550,000 electrified automobiles by the end of 2026. This would be about a 30% increase over the 410,000 cars they sold in 2025. To meet that aim, the corporation needs to keep its factories busy and its customers pleased, and so far, the plan seems to be working.

A large part of this achievement comes from the Xiaomi SU7. This is a newer variant that is starting to sell in considerable quantities. By late April, the business had 60,000 people who had already paid and locked in their orders for the latest version of the SU7. At that time, Xiaomi has already delivered 26,000 of them. This car was formally launched on March 19, and deliveries started just a few days later.

The other significant triumph for the brand is the Xiaomi YU7 SUV. This model originally came out in June 2025. Since then, it has become a great hit. It is supposed to compete directly with cars like the Tesla Model Y. In just ten months, Xiaomi has shipped 231,000 copies of the YU7.

Xiaomi is preparing to introduce the YU7 GT, which is even more potent. This is their SUV’s high-performance variant. According to Xiaomi, this vehicle is a “pure-blooded” GT, which means that while it is designed to be a sports car, it is still sufficiently comfortable for extended road journeys. By the end of May, the corporation intends to formally introduce this model.

According to government documents, the YU7 GT measures 5,015 mm long and 2,007 mm broad and it stands 1597 mm tall. The wheelbase is 3,000 mm so there should be plenty of room inside for people and their belongings. Even though it is large, it is meant to go very, very rapidly.

The updated model has two electric motors. Together, they deliver 738 kW of power – that is around 990 hp. That is a huge amount of power for an SUV. Xiaomi says the car can achieve a top speed of 300 km/h. It can also go from a stop to 100 km/h in around two seconds.

Most individuals may not need to go that fast to go to work, but the YU7 GT also has a good battery. It can drive 705 km on a single charge, depending on the CLTC testing cycle used in China. When it goes on sale, the automobile will likely cost between RMB 450,000 and RMB 500,000 – around €56,300 to €62,500. By the end of April, Xiaomi had 495 outlets in 143 different cities. They intend to open even more outlets in new cities throughout May.
