The 2027 BMW iX3 Range Updated In The U.S.

While BMW has already launched the new iX3 in numerous places, it hasn’t officially debuted in the US yet. Ahead of that, it’s gotten an increased range estimate from its maker for the US market (using the EPA testing cycle). The iX3 xDrive50 version is now expected by BMW to travel 434 miles on one charge using the EPA testing cycle, up from the previously promised amount of 400 miles.

Do keep in mind that these are simply estimations – the EPA hasn’t yet issued the actual amount. Still, it’s fantastic to see the fact that BMW believes its newest EV has what it takes to drive over 400 miles on one charge.

There aren’t a ton of EVs in the US market that can claim this achievement. The iX3 will also be among the quickest charging EVs in the US market, since it can be charged at up to 400kW DC thanks to its 800V platform. If you can find a charger that supports it, the iX3 can acquire up to 175 miles of range within only 10 minutes of charging, while moving from 10% to 80% will take only 21 minutes.

The formal US debut of the iX3 is slated for May, with the online configurator expected to be live in June. iX3 vehicles for the US market are scheduled to then start rolling off the manufacturing line in early September, with the first deliveries to clients taking place in the US in late September or early October.

The iX3 will start from roughly $60,000 in the US, but of course there will be plenty of optional equipment to pick from so the price can go up very quickly. If you’re interested in it, don’t miss our real-world range test.
